Applies to vehicles: with car telephone kit or phone pre-installation
Important: The telephone must be activated first Link, and the PIN/PUK symbol -1- must appear in the status line Fig. 1.
Press the function selector button marked TEL. The speller will appear on the MMI display Link.
Enter the PIN or PUK code via the speller. Turn the speller to OK and press the rotary pushbutton to confirm. The speller for entering a telephone number will appear on the MMI display.
PIN code (Personal Identification Number)
The PIN for the SIM card consists of four to eight digits and protects your SIM card from unauthorised use.
You receive the PIN code for the SIM card from your mobile network service provider together with the SIM card. If you enter the PIN (SIM) code incorrectly three times1) in a row, the SIM card will be blocked and a message will appear on the MMI display.
PUK code (Personal Unblocking Key)
The eight-digit PUK code is used to unblock a SIM card which has been blocked.
You receive the PUK code from your mobile network service provider together with the SIM card. If you have entered the PUK code incorrectly ten times1) in a row, please contact your service provider.
Note
  • An emergency call (SOS) can be placed without the SIM card. In such cases you will be connected with the emergency services number Link.
  • You can also enter the PIN (SIM) code via the handset* Link or the mobile phone.
  • You can save the PIN (SIM) code in the MMI using the Autom. PIN recogn. function Link.
  • For more information on PIN (SIM) settings, please refer to the sections starting on Link.
