Important: The requirements for Audi connect (infotainment) services must be met link.
The MMI uses the vehicle s position to establish which regions you are most often in. The MMI uses this information to set up to three home regions for you and will suggest update packages for these regions if any are available Fig. 240.
If you start route guidance to a destination outside of your home regions (e.g. when you are on holiday), the MMI will check if more up-to-date maps are available for your destination and will suggest a map update if this is the case.
Select -1- Switch to online update Fig. 240 when the message informing you of a new map update appears on the infotainment display. Or:
Select: MENU button > Settings > left control button > System maintenance > System update > Online update.
A list of the available update packages is shown on the infotainment display -2- Fig. 241.
Selecting online map update
  • Select an update package from the list (). If update packages with a large volume of data are available for certain countries (e.g. France), you can choose to update individual regions (e.g. only southern France).
  • Press the BACK button to confirm your selection and return the list of available update packages. The number and data volume of the selected country update packages are now shown on the infotainment display.
Starting download
  • Select and confirm Start download.
  • Confirm the safety query by selecting Start download again.
The country update packages will be downloaded, and the download status will be shown on the infotainment display. The download s progress is also shown in the status line -14- Fig. , irrespective of the menu selected.
Installing the online map update
The installation of the downloaded maps only occurs after the vehicle has been parked. The new country update packages are installed after the ignition is switched off. When you restart the MMI, a message indicating that the updates have been installed successfully will appear on the infotainment display.
  • Confirm the successful update with OK.
The new maps can now be used for navigation.
CAUTION
  • If you cancel a map update download, the data already downloaded is permanently deleted. The appropriate update package can be downloaded again by selecting the MENU button > Settings > left control button > System maintenance > System update.
  • The online map update service is only available with an existing mobile phone contract (or one set up separately) and if you are in an area with mobile phone network coverage. Depending on your mobile phone tariff, you may be charged for receiving data packets online, especially if you are using the system abroad. Because of the high level of data usage, we strongly recommend using an unlimited data plan.
Note
  • Because of the high level of data usage when downloading large country update packages or the entire package, we recommend that in these cases you download the data on your computer from your myAudi account, save them on an SD card and then import them to your MMI system. For more information, please see the Audi connect Operating Manual (myAudi) at www.audi.com/myaudi.
