Confirm the bonding process on the mobile phone when prompted to do so. The Bluetooth symbol -1- Fig. 1 will appear in the status line of the MMI display when the mobile phone has been bonded successfully.
If your mobile phone supports this function, a 6-digit PIN code will appear instead of a random 4-digit PIN code both on the display of the MMI system and on the mobile phone. Confirm this PIN code on the mobile phone and in the MMI system to bond the mobile phone to the MMI system.
After the mobile phone has been connected or the SIM card has been inserted, the contacts are automatically loaded into the directory of the MMI. It may take several minutes to load the entries, depending on how many contacts are stored on the mobile phone. For more information about the directory, please refer to Link.
If your mobile phone supports only the Handsfree Profile, you can insert the SIM card into the SIM card reader Link or into the handset* Link. When the SIM card is inserted, you can also use the contacts from your mobile phone by bonding the mobile phone to the system via the Directory profile Link.
Note
  • You have to enter the 4-digit PIN code once only. Any Bluetooth devices that have already been bonded to the MMI system once are connected automatically when they are within range. Please pay attention to any connection queries on your mobile phone.
  • If your mobile phone also supports the SIM Access Profile, the car telephone kit will suggest that you use the SIM Access Profile after you have bonded the mobile phone with the Handsfree Profile Link.
  • Audi does not recommend using a mobile phone with Handsfree Profile as the external car aerial is then not used and electromagnetic fields can be generated in the vehicle interior.
  • For up-to-date information on mobile phones with the Handsfree Profile, please see the Internet (e.g. www.audi.com/bluetooth) or contact an Audi dealer.
