The night vision assist uses an infrared camera to monitor the area in front of your vehicle after dark. Pedestrians that it detects are highlighted on the display, subject to certain limitations inherent in the system. The system can detect objects up to about 300 metres away. The heat image from the camera is shown on the instrument cluster display Fig. 1. Warmer areas appear lighter, while cooler areas appear darker.
